SOP for Operation of Shredding Machine

1.0 OBJECTIVE: 

To lay down the procedure for the operation of Shredding machine.

2.0 SCOPE: 

This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) covers the detailed procedure to carry out the startup, and operation and shut down of the Shredding machine in scrap yard.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 

3.1 Operating Personnel.

3.2 Head of the Department to ensure compliance.

4.0 PROCEDURE:   

4.1 Operating procedure for shredding machine

4.1.1 Switch “ON” the main power supply . 

4.1.2 Check the machine status before starting of the operation.

4.1.3 Wear the hand gloves,masks, and cap.

4.1.3 Keep plastic bag at outlet of the machine.

4.1.4 Fill the Empty blister,strip,foils into the Hopper of shredding machine.

4.1.5 Switch on the “mains” of shredding machine  by pressing the green push button.

4.1.6 Continue the operation, if any discrepancy occurred then inform to the  Supervisor .

4.1.7 Collect the shredded material in double polythene bag and transfer the material for Disposal.

4.2 Shutdown procedure.

4.2.1 Switch OFF the shredding machine by pressing the red push button.

4.2.2 Ensure that the hopper is empty.

4.2.3 Switch off the main electric supply.
