SOP for Maintaining Personal Hygiene 

1.0 OBJECTIVE: 

To maintain Personal Hygiene.

2.0 SCOPE: 

This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for all employees.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY: 

All employees. 

4.0 PROCEDURE:

4.1 Health

4.1.1 All employees shall be subject to pre-employment medical examination.

4.1.2 Periodic health check up shall be carried for all employees and special attention shall be given on contagious and infectious disease.

4.1.3 Superior shall report to department head about the unhealthy conditions of employees working in their sections and department head shall take appropriate action immediately.

4.1.4 Employees suffering from any infectious disease (Tuberculosis, Chickenpox, Conjunctivitis etc.), which is in communicable form, shall not come to work until authorized medical practitioner declares them free from the same.

4.2 Personal Cleanliness: 

4.2.1 Strict attention to personal hygiene shall be given to stop the spread of pathogenic microorganism. The following special measures shall be followed.

4.2.2 Everybody shall be advised and encouraged to have daily morning bath before coming to work place and to change their clothes daily.

4.2.3 Hands shall be cleaned regularly and certainly after visiting the toilets.

4.2.4 The hair shall be kept clean and well controlled at all times. Combing of hair shall be strictly forbidden in all sections other than toilets. 

4.2.5 Employees shall cut their nails regularly and keep it clean.

4.3 Hygienic Behavior:

4.3.1 A satisfactory level of hygiene shall be achieved only if every one makes it a personal responsibility by following these elementary rules.

4.3.2 Food & drink shall not be consumed in the manufacturing, packing, storage and laboratory areas.

4.3.3 Smoking shall not be permitted in any area of factory. “NO SMOKING” sign shall be displayed at points of entry. Also chewing of Tobacco or associated items etc. shall not be permitted in any areas of factory.

4.3.4 Personal medication shall not be permitted in manufacturing areas.

4.3.5 It shall be ensured that employees keep their locker in clean and tidy conditions.
