SOP for Cleaning of Vacuum Cleaner
1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure for Cleaning of Vacuum Cleaner.
2.0 SCOPE:
This SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) covers the procedure for cleaning of vacuum cleaner equipment No. [Specify No.]
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1 Operating personnel to follow the SOP

4.0 PROCEDURE:
4.1 Equipment No. [Specify No.] (for Receipt Area)
4.1.1 Frequency: At the end of the day (if it is used).
4.1.2 Detach the outlet hosepipe, which connects the electrical part with the dust collector tank, remove the dust collector tank with lid from the body of vacuum cleaner and keep it on a pallet for cleaning.
4.1.3 Clean body of vacuum cleaner (electrical part) by mopping with clean dry lint free wipes, transfer to de-dusted area, cover it and keep it in its designated place
4.1.4 Mop the outer surface of dust collector tank with clean dry lint free wipes, cover it with fresh poly bag and transfer to wash area.
4.1.5 Bring one cleaned pallet for keeping cleaned accessories of vacuum cleaner.
4.1.6 Wear surgical hand gloves and masks before starting the cleaning activity.
4.1.7 Remove hosepipe and sucker tail from dust collector tank.
4.1.8 Unwrap the shrink film from hosepipe and put it in waste bin.
4.1.9 Clean the inner and outer surface of hosepipe and sucker tail with purified water.
4.1.10 Drain the water; use purified compressed air for removing water.
4.1.11 Mop the outer surface with clean dry lint free wipes.
4.1.12 Wrap hosepipe and sucker tail with shrink film and keep them on the pallet.
4.1.13 Remove lid of dust collector tank, detach the HEPA filter, put it inside one fresh polythene bag, tie it and keep it on the pallet.
4.1.14 Mop the outer parts of lid with a clean lint free wipes damped with purified water followed by clean dry lint free wipes and keep it on pallet.
4.1.15 Take out filter bag directly to the washbasin.
4.1.16 Collect the dust/powder (if any) from the dust collection tank in a double polythene bag, tie it with cable tie, affix “Scrap to be disposed off” label, keep it inside waste bin and ensure the same is handed over to Effluent Treatment Plant personnel at the end of shift.
4.1.17 Wash the filter bag and collection tank with purified water. Use disposable nylon scrubber for washing. Dispose the scrubber after cleaning.
4.1.18 Use compressed filtered air / clean dry lint free wipes for draining the water from collection tank & filter bag and keep it on the pallet.
4.1.19 Re-fit all the detached accessories of vacuum cleaner except filter bag, transfer to de-dusted area.
4.1.20 Keep the filter bag on the cleaned pallet to overnight for drying.
4.1.21 Fill and affix the cleaned label and record the cleaning activity.
4.1.22 Ensure the dried filter bag is fixed again prior to use.
4.2 Equipment No. [Specify No.] (for Dispensing Area) and Equipment No. [Specify No.] (for Sampling Area)
4.2.1 Frequency: At the end of the day (if it is used).
4.2.2 Transfer the vacuum cleaner from dispensing / sampling area to wash area and keep it on a pallet.
4.2.3 Bring one clean pallet for keeping cleaned accessories of vacuum cleaner.
4.2.4 Wear surgical hand gloves and masks before starting the cleaning activity.
4.2.5 Remove the polythene cover from vacuum cleaner and put it in waste bin.
4.2.6 Detach the hosepipe and sucker tail from the vacuum cleaner.
4.2.7 Remove the shrink film from hosepipe of vacuum cleaner and put it in waste bin.
4.2.8 Clean inner and outer surface of the hosepipe and sucker tail with purified water.
4.2.9 Drain the water, run the filtered compressed air for removing water.
4.2.10 Mop the outer surface with clean dry lint free wipes.
4.2.11 Wrap hosepipe with shrink film and keep it on the cleaned pallet.
4.2.12 Remove lid of vacuum cleaner, detach the electrical part, clean by moping with clean dry lint free wipes and keep it on the pallet.
4.2.13 Clean the other parts of lid with purified water, dry with compressed air followed by clean dry lint free wipes and keep it on the pallet.
4.2.14 Take out filter bag directly to the washbasin.
4.2.15 Collect the dust/powder, if any from the dust collection tank in a double polythene bag, tie it with cable-tie, affix “Scrap to be disposed off” label keep it inside waste bin and ensure the same (if any) is handed over to ETP personnel at the end of day.
4.2.16 Wash filter bag and collection tank with hot purified water. Use disposable nylon scrubber for washing filter bag & collection tank and dispose scrubber after use.
4.2.17 Use filtered compressed air / clear dry lint free wipes to drain the water from collection tank and filter bag and keep it in cleaned pallet.
4.2.18 Re-fit all the detached accessories of vacuum cleaner except filter bag, fill and affix cleaned label and transfer vacuum cleaner bearing equipment id no. [Specify No.] to cleaned room and [Specify No.] to sampling room.
4.2.19 Keep filter bag on a clean pallet to overnight for air-drying.
4.2.20 Fill and affix the cleaned label and record the cleaning activity.
4.2.21 Ensure the dried filter bag is fixed again prior to use.
Note: If the instruction given in Hindi found wrong (by translation), then treat the Instruction given in English as correct.
