SOP for Entry and Exit Procedure in Dispensing Area

1.0 OBJECTIVE:  

To lay down the procedure for gowning before entry and de-gowning for exit in the dispensing area.

2.0 SCOPE: 

This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) describes the gowning and de-gowning procedure for entry and exit in Dispensing Area.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:  

3.1 Store Personnel to follow the SOP
3.2 Store In-charge to ensure compliance

4.0 PROCEDURE:  

4.1 Entry to the dispensing Area
4.1.1 Press the door interlock push button and enter the dispensing area change room.
4.1.2 Remove the apron and keep it in provided hanger.
4.1.3 Remove slipper and put them in the space provided on cross over bench.
4.1.4 Move to other side of cross over bench by sitting.
4.1.5 Wear the headgear over cap, then boiler suit and finally booties (by sitting on cross over bench).
4.1.6 Sanitise your hands by using the sanitising solution and then wear surgical hand gloves.
4.1.7 Check for proper gowning by observing in the mirror.
4.1.8 Press the door interlock push button and enter dispensing area.
4.2 Exit from Dispensing Area
4.2.1 Press the door interlock push button and enter into the change room.
4.2.2 Remove hand gloves, boiler suit, headgear, booties and put them in “waste bin”. 
4.2.3 Cross the cross over bench, wear your own apron and slippers, press the door interlock push button and exit from change room.
4.3 Give the used set of uniform (boiler suit) in covered polythene bags at the linen counter for washing, on completion of product changeover.
4.4 Bring the cleaned uniform from linen room in covered polythene bags and keep in the provided cupboard inside change room
